Kaal computes the Moon's position using a standard truncated lunar theory and the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa. Birth times are interpreted on the Indian civil clock — Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30), with the +6:30 offset India observed between 1942 and 1945; births before India adopted a standard time in 1906 carry extra uncertainty.
If you do not know your birth time we assume noon, which is a genuine approximation: the Moon crosses a full nakshatra in roughly a day, so an unknown birth time can change the starting nakshatra itself. Results are provided for reflection and entertainment.
The content, design, and code of Kaal are owned by us and protected by applicable law. Your birth details remain yours.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
